The POP! App

Proposal Details

The POP! app breaks through the transparency of communication and its effects like never before. Effective in both near and far communications, the POP app is a novel combination of the features that make any messaging or social media application successful. However, this time it's on a map. POP! is map-based messaging where each "pop" lasts for 60 seconds on a persistent map, on which users can see the countdown till expiration, synched across all users' devices. Coupled with intra-language communication, we can communicate with anyone in the world instantly and no longer rely on "posted" information such as Twitter, Citizen, Nextdoor, and Craigslist. It's 2020 we have so much tech and social media, yet people are still saying things like, "I don't know what's going on in China with the coronavirus." Well if we had an application where everyone had the option to post things on a map, then we'd know instantly and be able to connect with everyone! Even videos from China are scrutinized about the reality of the situation, and that's simply human nature... which is why a lot of people watch TV! The main feature of the application is saving # hashtags based on distance. As well as a time-reversal feature to see "past pops" on a map. Gone are the days of not saying something to that guy or girl in the park, or seeing a UFO and not sharing it with everyone instantly near-by, or believing the "news" that a protest had 100 people when in fact it had 10,000. Taking these "pops" and putting the messaging on the blockchain will enable an additional layer of credibility for using POP as world-wide social discovery tool, capable of connecting people both near and far!

I know this definitely sounds crazy the entire thing like, is this really a social media app? I've always had positive responses from people telling me to keep spreading the word about it. Even right this very moment this app is useful in terms of informing one another visually about the virus, about elections, about things happening that may be a danger to others near-by. If you look at any successful social media applications, even Facebook, they still rely on their core features of posting on the wall. Snapchat still relies on Snaps, Craigslist, still a newspaper column format. This app is kind of a combination of FourSquare, Craigslist, Twitter, Google Maps, and Snapchat. In the past I had the idea for Twitter when I was much younger, but that got released before I could do anything about it. The idea there was, "how can we publicly record fleeting thoughts." This is the same thought but on crack. I'm trying to give as much logic and reason for this so that it's clear to see my vision for it. Initially, the MVP should be released in the U.S. and eventually worldwide in some format, could be a desktop web app as well. I had gone about trying to make this app and do what I can for this idea for the past 10 years. I definitely had stumbling blocks along the way, wasted funds here n' there on the wrong efforts and so on. I still believe in the vision as it has been relevant 10 years ago and today. Just try and imagine a free world where honesty is the only policy. Even though we have Facebook and Twitter, nobody is connecting with anyone across the world, with intra-language communication, we can easily connect with anyone anywhere and be that much closer! Check out the pitch deck for a few use cases, I'm sure you can think of many more yourself! Thank you for your time. please email me or call me anytime kkachinsky@gmail.com 917 615 4883 (or text) i have some investment, but it was squandered away by the person i trusted. As with any project there are a lot of stories however this app entirely belongs to me. Not to mention, with the onset of 5G, real-time display of time synched devices is a reality! and something we need and expect as a society.
