Flambu is a community-centric platform for sharing and borrowing items locally powered by blockchain.

The main pain that we aim to solve is that people, especially millennials, today prefer experiences rather than ownership of physical goods, yet there is no mainstream solution that lets them access the products they need for short time experiences without buying.

In order to solve this pain, we create a platform where people can share the things they own in order to generate extra income and borrow what they need from others to save money. By involving a special tokenization model, we are also incentivizing the participants and offering them the opportunity to be stakeholders in the platform in return for their positive contributions, which also creates a more robust trust mechanism.

Below I am happy to share some points that summarize our progress so far, and I’d be glad to hear your thoughts as experts in the Web3 space since we are starting our seed round soon.

We are a mobile-first project and feel free to download our app.

Even though we are still at an early stage to call it traction, we have just announced our public beta in early October and now we have 10.000+ users registered and created a wallet since then.

We have received 100s of positive feedback on our app’s UI and UX and also comments for improvements which we implemented already.

Some people that joined our platform are also interested in participating in a potential Ambassador program, which also aligns with our vision of building a decentralized community where supporters will be able to spread the word for us by creating their local communities and also be able to earn more stake in the platform by doing so.

We have built a strong partnership with Fuse network (fuse.io) - an EVM-compatible blockchain that aims to replace Visa and Stripe, and also offers great open-source tools for mobile-first development. They have announced our partnership.

We have finalized the Celo Startup Pathway program. Our announcement on Twitter has received very positive feedback. Now we are in touch with Celo Starter decentralized fundraising community to raise funds through their community.

We drafted our token economics for our platform. We have been able to refine our model after many discussions of this idea with many people in the blockchain ecosystem within our network. Our model now consists of two tokens (currently in design and development phase). Flames (FLAM) are proof of stake tokens, and their value is tied to the value generated in Flambu. They are used to create trust within the community, as well as rewarding contributions. Flambucks (FBX), are stable tokens of Flambu backed by other stable tokens like USDC and they are used for low-cost P2P transactions.
