Vyper is the 2nd most widely used smart contract development language. It targets the Ethereum Virtual Machine with Python-like syntax, and a focus on readability/audibility and secure development patterns. Vyper is a free and open source project, with over a hundred contributors who have helped make it what it is today.

As a public good for Ethereum development, Vyper has created immense value for the network. Successful projects such as UniSwap and Curve have led to over $60mm of value locked into Vyper smart contracts, using a language built by minimal investment but passionate volunteers for most of the project's history.

With investment that is aligned with Vyper's goals and OSS community, we can support engineers working on Vyper full time, making progress occur at a much faster rate. A full time staff can add exciting new features to the language such as greater support for complex mathematical operations, and help onboard thousands of new developers with a background in Python into the Ethereum ecosystem. Who knows what they may create!
